The Malibu comes standard with a 1.5-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine with direct injection and variable valve timing delivering up to 163 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The fuel tank capacity is 15.8 gallons and the EPA fuel economy city, highway, and combined estimate are 28, 36, and 31 mpg. Standard equipment also includes a continuous variable transmission (CVT) and the 4-wheel antilock disc brakes that reduce wheel lockup and improve steering control on slippery surfaces.
Agile Handling
The front-wheel drive Chevy Malibu comes with MacPherson strut front suspension and 4-link rear suspension with a rear stabilizer bar for precise handling when driving through road curves. You’ll also find StabiliTrak, an electronic stability control system, that helps enhance control during emergency maneuvers and includes traction control that helps drivers maintain control on wet or snow-covered roads.

The base Malibu LS trim comes standard with 6-way manual front seats and the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System with an 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen. Standard features also include the OnStar Basics services such as built-in voice assistance, real-time traffic and navigation, and automatic crash response. The 2LT trim has upgraded features with a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus System with navigation, an 8-inch HD color touchscreen, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and 8-way power driver seats.
