Unveiling the 2025 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD
Capable Beyond Belief
The standard 6.6L naturally-aspirated V8 engine generates 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. The previous 6-speed transmission pairing has been upgraded to a smooth-shifting Allison 10-speed automatic. The available Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine is a true workhorse that produces 470 horsepower and an impressive 975 lb-ft of torque. It includes an exhaust brake system to help slow the truck using engine compression, which reduces brake wear when descending.
With the diesel engine, the Silverado 3500 HD can tow up to 36,000 pounds when properly equipped with a gooseneck hitch and dual rear wheels. Conventional towing tops out at 20,000 pounds, while payload capacity can reach up to 7,234 pounds depending on the trim and configuration.
Versatile Interior
Each of the Silverado 3500 HD’s trims have varying interior appointments to suit different needs. The base Work Truck (WT) trim, which has its intended use in the name, focuses on the basics, with vinyl seating and easy-to-clean rubberized floors. Higher trims offer features such as leather upholstery, contrast stitching, and soft-touch surfaces. LTZ and High Country trims additionally come with 10-way power adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, and memory settings.
Every trim except WT features a new 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with built-in Google, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an in-dash navigation system. The screen’s layout is configurable and includes physical buttons for ease-of-use. The optional towing package includes plenty of tech features that simplify the once-complicated process of hauling, including Trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist, Auto Grade Braking, and a Transparent Trailer View.
Durable Exterior
The truck’s high-strength steel frame is designed to provide maximum durability and support heavy loads. Two bed options are available: a 6.75-feet Standard Bed and an 8-foot Long Bed. Both feature a Durabed liner with 12 standard tie-downs (rated at 500 pounds each), LED bed lighting, and a 120-volt outlet.
The tailgate on all models can be upgraded to a Multi-Flex Tailgate that makes loading, unloading, and accessing the bed easier. In addition to the primary gate, it includes an inner gate, two load stops, and a large step.
